Frances M. Rademacher, age 88, died peacefully on Sunday October 23, 2016, at her home. Fran was born in the Leeds area on November 5, 1927 and was the daughter of Carl and Sylvia (Baerwolf) Kvale. She was married to Robert Rademacher Sr. on August 7, 1947 in East Bristol.
Fran attended elementary school in Leeds, then went to high school in DeForest where she graduated as Valedictorian. She worked and lived in Madison after graduation until she married the love of her life and started her career as homemaker and farm wife. Besides working beside Bob and raising seven children, she tended a huge garden and canned and froze all the fruits of her garden and baked and cooked for her family and lots of farm help throughout the years. She was also the bookkeeper for the farming operation, and worked outside doing chores as well as other tasks too numerous to mention. She was a proud grandmother to 19 and great-grandmother to 23. Fran was President of St. Joseph's Church Women and was instrumental in starting the church dinner in 1961 and continued to help every year. She was also the editor of St. Joseph's Church history book. She was active in Merry Maids Homemakers Club for 40 years until it dissolved. She received an award for being a charter member of the club. Just a side note – Bob used to say “Are you going to homewreckers tonight?” She was an active 4-H leader for many years for the DeForest Handy Helpers, a member of the DeForest High School Alumni Association and was Secretary for 22 years, a member and Secretary of the DeForest Historical Society Board for 31 years, 22 years as Secretary, and a member of the Legion Auxiliary Post 333 in Sun Prairie where she was Sergeant at Arms. Fran and Bob also liked to travel. They visited farms in Germany, Norway, Alaska and California to mention a few. Her favorite, which was on her bucket list, was to travel to the Holy Land. That wish was fulfilled in 2012 when her daughter, Nancy, accompanied her on that trip of a lifetime. She had a very strong faith. Bob and Fran were involved with FFA, having two sons, Bob Jr. and Joe, involved while in High School. In May 2015 she received “The Friend of FFA Award”. Fran and Bob were very proud of the family receiving an award at the State Fair in 2003 for the 150th year of the farm being homesteaded in 1853. The seventh generation now works the farm.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Betty) Rademacher of DeForest, Susan (William) Paulson of DeForest, Nancy (Thomas) Suchomel of Sun Prairie, Barbara (Frank) LaVoy of Oregon, Christine (Denis) Poffenberger of Lodi and Lisa Rademacher (Don Wedd) of Chicago; her grandchildren, Jenifer (Bill) Barman, Robert (Roni) Rademacher III, Stephanie (Matt) Schwenke, Brenda (Curt) Trotta, Andrew (Amanda) Rademacher, Michelle (Matt) Lissick, Melissa (Mike) Fandrich, Maria (Nick) Keiser, Megan (Steve) Schreiber, Molly (Nick) Carr, Paul (Sarah) Suchomel, Aaron (Lynea) LaVoy, Adam (Katie) LaVoy, Emily (Nick) Marron, Joseph (Haley Carey) LaVoy, Michael (Celeste) Dammen, Katie (Jordan Hughes) Poffenberger, Julia and Sophia Rademacher-Wedd; great grandchildren, Cory and Whitley Barman, Bryce, Emmet and Ethen Rademacher, Mikalea and Braeden Schwenke, Brooklyn and Karli Trotta, Grace and Elise Lissick, Maddie Fandrich, Harper Keiser, Maddie Jo Suchomel and Paul Priolo, Evelyn, Nolan, Alivia, Lila and Aaron LaVoy, Sydney Marron, Amelia and Andrew Dammen; a sister, Helen Iwert of Poynette, 2 sisters-in law, Ethel Rademacher and Joan (Charles) Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Joseph's Parish or the DeForest Area Historical Society.
Family meant everything to her.
She always had a smile on her face
and a twinkle in her eye.
We love you, Mom.
