Eugene L. Skrenes, age 89, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Sun Prairie Health Care Center. He was born on January 30, 1928 in Madison and was the son of Leonard and Violet (Finger) Skrenes. Gene graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1945. He played in the Roger Holten Twilighters Dance Band for 25 years. He also worked for Conrad's and Sentry Grocery for almost 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Laurine; a son Larry; a daughter Susan; grandchildren, Kevin Skrenes and Andrew (Jenny) Skrenes; great grandchildren, Cameron and Carson Skrenes; a sister-in-law Mary Skrenes and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Kenneth; also an uncle and aunt, Walter and Annetta Finger.
A Funeral Service will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Dr. in Sun Prairie, on Tuesday August 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Timothy Hansen will preside. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Bristol Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Our Saviors Lutheran or a charity of your choice.
