Dorothy A. Gmeinder, age 86 passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on June 11, 1926 in Dodgeville and was the daughter of Joseph and Maureen (Rogers) Prohaska. She married Henry Gmeinder on June 24, 1947 in Madison. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and music of which she served on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony.
She is survived by her husband, Henry; 3 children, Mary Sutherland of Sun Prairie, John (Patti) of Oregon, Paul of Sun Prairie; 4 grandchildren, Lee (Jill) Sutherland of Austin, TX, Daniele (Ethan) Elliot of North Carolina, Kirsten and Steven Gmeinder of Oregon; 2 great grandchildren, Lauren and Page Sutherland; a brother Joseph (Charlotte) Prohaska.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Joseph and 2 sisters, Ellen Nechvatel and Maureen Brausen.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East Bristol with Father Rob Butz presiding. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to The Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary.
