Dortha McGrew Elkins entered heaven Wednesday, April 21,2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 28, 1925 to Marion & Nora (Vick) McGrew. Dortha was the faithful pastor’s wife of Dr. James Thomas Elkins Jr until his death in 1999. They served the Lord many years pastoring, helping plant churches and as the director of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches. Since her husband’s death she has lived in DeForest, WI. She has been an active member of her local church. She was the sweet mother to her five children; Janis (Rodney) Olney, Sandra (David) Wredberg, Judith Olney, Rebecca (Earl) Wredberg and James (Krisan) Elkins. She has 17 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
There will be a graveside service at Town of Burke Cemetery, 5861 Hoepker Rd, Madison, WI 53718 at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021. Family and friends are invited to attend
