Doris M. Ziegler, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Hyland Park in Sun Prairie. She was born in Sibula, Iowa on March 12, 1928 and was the daughter of John and Mabel (Giddings) Lawrence. She worked for Dane County Clerk of Courts for many years.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Martin of DeForest, Dan Ziegler, Linda Nellen, Connie Ziegler all of Sun Prairie; six grandchildren, Kelly (Jason) Mikula, Lonny Ziegler, Shane (Charlene) Martin, Shawn (Jennifer) Martin, Johnas (Jessica) Nellen, and Paige Nellen as well as eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Larry; two brothers Louie and Everett; four sisters, Fern Links, Betty Dettman, Erma Ellingson, and Hazel Maertz.
Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 on Saturday, February 27th with the service to begin at 11:00 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St, in Sun Prairie. Private burial is planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society or Heartland Hospice.
She will be remembered for her love of animals and of the one armed bandit, crochet and knitting skills and for being a loving mother and grandmother.
