Donna F. Ashley (Gasser), age 65, passed away on Sunday, February 26 at ManorCare Nursing Home in Fond du Lac after a long battle against the ill-effects of multiple sclerosis. Donna dealt with her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis courageously, caring more about others than her own struggles.
Donna was born on February 6, 1947, to Lois and James Gasser. Donna grew up in Blue Mounds and graduated from Mount Horeb High School. Donna worked at Gino's restaurant in Madison most of her adult life until she became too ill to work. She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie.
Donna is survived by her sister, Judy Wegner (Ted); her brother, Dennis Gasser; two very special friends, Norma and Bud; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Donna's family is appreciative of and thankful for all Donna's caregivers over the years. Donna will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Lodi. Donations and memorials in Donna's name can be made to either Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 1 at 11:00 AM at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie. Pastor Luke Were will preside. Visitation is from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
