Donald J. Moriarty, age 74, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his home in Sun Prairie. He was born on January 21, 1943 in Chicago to Michael and Eleanor (Macikas) Moriarty. He married Gloria Blaczeniak on June 24, 1978. Donald served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era from 1968 to 1970. He graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Donald worked as a Technician in the testing lab for Sears and Roebuck.
Donald is survived by his wife; brothers Michael (Louise) Moriarty of Simi Valley, CA, Anthony (Allenda) Moriarty of Alabama, and Eugene (Frances) Moriarty of Santa Cruz, CA; sisters Eleanor (Vincent) Champagne of Oak Lawn, IL, Christine (Mark) Field of Wheaton, IL, and Karen Moriarty of CA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Mary Katherine Moriarty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie. Father Chahm Gahng will preside. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
