Donald J. Stoiber, 91, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born on July 8, 1922 in Rubicon, and was the son of Charles and Frances (Bertz) Stoiber. He married Helen Riley on October 18, 1947 in Neosho.
Don and Helen loved square dancing, camping and going to Florida in the winter. Don also loved to garden and raise violets. He served in the Army during WWII and was a member of the VFW and Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church in Sun Prairie. Don retired from Dari-Kool in Madison where he worked for many years. Don is survived by his wife, Helen Stoiber; 2 nieces, Gail (Jim) Krenn and their children, Sarah Amanda, Jacob, and Zachary, and Mariann (Randy) Flemming and their daughter Katie. Don is further survived by other nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wilfrid (Mildred) and Robert Stoiber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Burial will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Hearts Church.
