Dolores “Dee” Drunasky, age 87, passed away on Sunday May 28, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born the fourth child of eight on May 6, 1930 to Oscar and Florence (Lessner) Benisch in East Bristol. She graduated from Sun Prairie High School. Dee married Bernard Drunasky on May 6, 1950 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Sun Prairie.
Dee was a member of Sacred Hearts Church and a member of Women Catholic Foresters. She was a seasonal employee for 25 years for Wisconsin Cheeseman.
Dolores is survived by her son Gary (long-time companion Jeanne Sekel and her daughters Tammy and JoAnne) of Sun Prairie; daughter MariDee (Steve) Wittl of Afton, MN; adored grandchildren Zach, Kylie and Jake Wittl, who were her pride and joy, all of Afton, MN; brother Jerome Benisch of Sun Prairie; one sister Virginia Bedner of Monona; sisters-in law Shirley Benisch, Hazel Benisch of Sun Prairie and Betty Benisch of Stoughton; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Willis, Donnie and Laverne; sisters Arlene Statz and Rosie Breunig; brothers-in-law Francis Bedner, Melvin Breunig, Vincent Statz, Wayne Legler, Sylvester Zimbric, and Harold Zimbrick; and sisters-in-law Marge Legler Edna Zimbric and Anne Zimbrick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday June 2, 2017, 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt will preside. A visitation will be held on Friday June 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. 11:45 a.m. to at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie. Burial will take place in Sun Prairie Memory Garden. A special thank you to the many friends and family who have given Dee love and friendship through the years.
