Dennis Edward Robertson, age 69, died peacefully at his home on April 16, 2015. He was born in Boston, MA to Jim and Eleanor (Duffy) Robertson. They relocated to Platteville where he was raised. He attended the University Lab School for his elementary education. He was an Eagle Scout and participated in the Order of the Arrow.
Denny graduated from UW- Platteville, and UW-Madison Law School. He practiced law in Madison for over 35 years. He was a partner in the law firm McCusker and Robertson for 25 years, then joined the Brennan, Steil Law Firm and later was of council at Axley Brynelson. He was a member of Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers, Dane County Bar Association, Wisconsin State Bar Association, and was appointed to the Wisconsin Patients Compensation Fund Board of Governors.
Denny always had a love of learning whether it was taking a class in small engine repair, installing a new appliance or reading the next book on his long list. He would fix almost everything and enjoyed the challenge
Denny is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane of Monona; children, Darren of Sun Prairie, Darcy Joyce of Lakeville, MN; 3 grandchildren, Julian Robertson, Logan and Aubryn Joyce, also survived by his siblings, Jim (Dodie) Robertson, Nancy (Bill) Von Meyer and their families,
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Amy Stella, Dr. Greg Hartig and the Staff at Agrace Hospice Center for their excellent care of Denny.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Stephen's Food Pantry in Monona, Wisconsin Public Radio or a charity of your choice. We will miss his wisdom, humor and love.
