Denise J. (Van Zoest) Strohmenger, age 53, passed away on March 27, 2012 as a result of an automobile accident. She was born on January 14, 1959 in Dodgeville to Bernard and Maria (Rosenberg) Van Zoest. Denise was so talented in so many things–sewing, woodworking, crafting–she was an avid hobbyist. She was a wonderful cook. She loved her family and husband deeply. She married Mark Strohmenger on October 5, 1996 in Marshall on the family farm. Denise worked at American Girl in DeForest and certainly enjoyed the company of her friends at her job. Denise was a spirited woman who often put others ahead of herself. With no effort, she brought forth generosity, was always thoughtful, and her consideration for others never waivered. Denise befriended many people for they realized she was a person worthy of the word friend. She will be remembered now and as time passes as wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. In the heart of everyone that Denise has touched, she will always be a part of them.
Denise is survived by her husband Mark Strohmenger; her parents Bernard and Maria Van Zoest of Sun Prairie; her brother Ben (Deborah) Van Zoest of Dane, WI; her sisters Montana Van Zoest (Jim Juetten) of Nashville, TN and Liss (Doug) Broman of Midlothian, VA; her nephews Derrick Van Zoest and Alexander Juetten; her nieces Chelsea Juetten, Alisha and Jessica Broman; her in-laws Dean and Janet Strohmenger of Sun Prairie; her sister-in-law Mary (Bill) Bartlett; brothers-in-law Brian (Amy) Strohmenger and Mike (Linda) Strohmenger; and family in the Netherlands.
