David Stankevich, age 59, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013. He was born on February 19, 1953 in Madison and was the son of George and Louise (Keenan) Stankevich. He married Geri Schmitz on May 6, 1977 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Madison. David graduated from East High School in Madison in 1971, Graduated from Carroll College with a B.S. in Marketing and Business; received his Masters of Business Administration in Finance from U. W. Whitewater. He was a professor of Marketing for Cardinal Stritch from 1992 to 2010. He had an extensive career in marketing and sales and worked for Carnes Company in Verona. He considered the Carnes Staff his extended family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who was always there for his family and friends. He loved to dance (was a member of the Sun Prairie Dance Club), travel around the world, fish and spend time with his family. He enjoyed Sun Prairie Youth Hockey and loved music.
He is survived by his wife, Geri; 3 children, Kelly (Brian) Tetting of Sussex, Adam Stankevich of Milwaukee, Steve Stankevich of Little Rock, AK; 3 grandchildren, Brady, Ethan and Ayla; his mother, Louise Stankevich of Madison; a sister, Carol Rolfe of Madison and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father George and his sister Marcia Stankevich
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at St Albert the Great Catholic Church, 2420 St. Albert Drive in Sun Prairie. Monsignor Terrence Connors will preside. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
