David C. Read

April 24, 1944 - June 21, 2017

David C. Read, age 73 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at his home in Stoughton. He was born on April 24, 1944 in Hampshire Illinois to Percy and Thelma (Halbmaier) Read.
He is survived by his wife Gloria; 3 children Michael (Angie) Read, John (Heidi) Smithe and Sara (Jim) Scott; 4 grandchildren Isabelle and Saxon Read and Hope and Tristan Scott; sisters Pat Fagan, Shirley (Laverne) DeFano, Connie (Mike) Burris and Rhonda (James) Robinson; a brother Rod; mother-in-law June Dahl; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Beverly.
A Celebration of David's Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in David's name.

Very proud to be the sister of David C. Read. No complaints at all, as he was a wonderful, one of a kind, brother. Thank God he is resting in peace and without suffering any more.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Read family. I was part of the class of 62 and always liked Dave. He was one of the "good" guys.
