Darwin “Dar” D. Hawkinson

Darwin “Dar” D. Hawkinson, 64, died of a heart attack on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 doing what he loved, being outside and cutting wood.
He was born December 24, 1959 in Edgerton, the son of Henry and Marie (McHenry) Hawkinson. Dar was a graduate of Parkview class of 1978.
Dar married Julie A. Knutson on February 27, 1999 in Negril, Jamaica, and they looked forward to celebrating their 25th anniversary this year.
He was employed by General Motors for 25 years. Dar also farmed for most of his life and worked for Severson RV.
He is survived by his wife: Julie; children: William (Amber) Hawkinson, Brodhead, Tracy Hawkinson, Brodhead, and Michael (Kristin Althoff) Retzlaff, Racine; 8 grandchildren: Taylor, Draven, Trinity, Nevaeh, Lux, Kearra, Travic, and Maizie; and his faithful dog, Lacy and cat, Missy; brothers and sisters: Duane (Jeanne) of Janesville, David (Diana) of Cherry Valley, IL, Diane Krueger of Footville, and Danny (Nancy) of Janesville; William and Tracy’s mother: Karen Burke; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Debra Krafjack; in-laws, Merle and Patt Knutson and nephew, Marc Hawkinson.
No services are being planned.
Newcomer-Silverthorn Chapel on the Hill, Hwy 11 and South Coon Island Road, Orfordville, is assisting the family.
