Cory James Barr, age 34, died in the line of duty, for Sun Prairie Fire Department, on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. He was born on February 28, 1984 to Jack and Janet (Baker) Barr. He married Abby Dieckman on September 22, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie.
Cory was the owner of Barr House, a realtor with Keller Williams (Barr Realty), a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, attended MATC, and was a Captain with Sun Prairie Fire Department, volunteering for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife Abby; twin daughters Aubrey and Hailey; parents Jack and Janet; sister Kim Barr; brother Chad (Jeff) Barr; father and mother-in-law Jack and Anne Dieckman; 3 sisters-in-law Ashley (Rob) McFarland, Audra (Jesse) Heiking and Alison Dieckman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a nephew Jacob Hotchkiss; a brother-in-law Dale Singer.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Sun Prairie High School, 888 Grove St., with Rev. Charlie Brandt and Rev. Steve Vera presiding. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Sun Prairie High School.
