Connie J. Hooser, age 69, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at U.W. Hospital in Madison. She was born on October 14, 1947 in New Castle, IN and was the daughter of Edward and Marjorie (Williams) Burke. She married Donald Hooser on May 4, 1968 in Richfield. During her time, Connie and Don and family enjoyed camping and traveling extensively in Yellowstone, Smokey Mountains, Grand Canyon and other places. They also went to Canada on fishing trips for more than a decade with grandsons Geoff Wilson and Cedrick Hooser. With health issues in later years her trips were more limited to once a year trip to Branson, Missouri. She enjoyed spending her cherished time with her family. Connie worked for 19 years at GTE in Sun Prairie.
She is survived by her husband; 2 daughters Lisa Wilson and Shannon Hooser; a son Wesley; 8 grandchildren, Geoffrey, Kyle,Cedrick, Mary Jane, Lydia, Wesley Jr., Isaac and Elizabeth; her parents Edward and Marjorie Burke; sisters Mary (Richard), Stephan, Susan (James) Celmer, Barbara Dunavant, Laura (Peter) Beine; brothers, John (Patti), James, Edward (Kerry) and Nels; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Holtz, Cheryl Floryance (Michael Paine); brothers-in-law, Stephan and Laurence Hooser and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family relatives.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Keith Dunavant.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Bristol Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday. Pastor Jenny Johnson will preside. Burial will be at Bristol Lutheran Cemetery.

the memory I cherish the most are the ones of Connie and I sitting in the car eating a vanilla ice cream cone after each of her physical therapy sessions in recent weeks. That and sitting on the front porch in the two new chairs we bought to just sit, talk and observe and greet people walking on North Street. I miss you terribly. I wish there had been a few more good times in recent time but God stepped in and said "Enough suffering" and brought you home. God Bless You and I'll love you always, Your Husband Don

She was a feisty and loving woman. She fought through so much physical change over the past 10 years or so. I have memories, old and new that are funny and special. One that comes to mind is a song by the Fifth Dimension (only I will remember this one!). We shared some good times. RIP Connie Burke-Hooser, until we meet again.
