Clairmont W. Grove, age 88, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at his home in Columbus. He was born on December 1, 1925 in the Town of Bristol to Christian and Helena (Quamme) Grove. He married Martha Wukovich on October 5, 1985 in Madison.
Clairmont farmed his whole life on the family farm. He was a gentle, kind man with a quiet sense of humor. His life changed when one night he asked Martha to dance. They loved traveling together and his favorite place of travel was to Alaska. Together they were strong and celebrated 29 years of marriage. To his family he was a special hero.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; children, Martha (Richard) Fallis, Marshall, Sally (Aaron) Swartz, Germany, Bonnie Towne, Sun Prairie, Michael Williams, San Francisco; 1 brother Harlan Grove, Columbus; 1 niece Kathy (Jim) Secora, Hoffman Estates;2 nephews Jeff (Robin) Grove, Bremerton, WA, Scott (Laura) Grove, Columbus; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law Gladys Grove; and nephew Ronald.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Spring Prairie Lutheran Church in Keyeser with Pastor Sylvia Lee-Thompson presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the Church. Interment will be held in the Church cemetery.
