Carolyn “Lyn” J. (Foley) Wilkinson, age 78, passed away on January 11, 2024 surrounded by her family after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 12, 1945 in Richland Center, WI and was the daughter of John and Marie (Stork) Foley. On September 14, 1968 she married her high school sweetheart, Carlyle “Carl” Wilkinson, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Muscoda, WI.
Lyn was warm, loving, and most of all enjoyed being with family and friends who will all dearly miss her. She worked as a beautician in her early adult life, but her true passion was raising her three sons and later helping to raise her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her time as an in-home daycare provider, as well as a teacher’s assistant both in the Sun Prairie schools and Sacred Hearts Preschool.

Lyn is survived by her husband Carl; three sons David (Kristin), Jack (Kristin) both of Sun Prairie, James (Stefanie) of Shoreview, MN; 9 grandchildren, Alyssa (Peter) Cooney, Jenna, Connor, Jonathan, Grace, Annabel, Benjamin, Elena, Theodore; and one great grandchild, Cecilia Cooney; two sisters Connie Foley of Sun Prairie and Kathleen (Lawrence) Wilson of Richland Center; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Joan Foley.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Catholic Church, 229 Columbus St, Sun Prairie, with Fr. Vince Brewer and Msgr. Duane Moellenberndt presiding. Visitation will be 9–11 am at the church. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Hearts Preschool.
