Betty Lou Meixner, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Sun Prairie. She was born on July 17, 1927 in the Town of Windsor, the daughter of Clarence and Ella (Warren) Richards. She married Raymond Meixner on May 14, 1949 at North Windsor United Methodist Church in DeForest.
She was a lifetime member of North Windsor United Methodist Church where she led the children's choir as well as sang in the adult choir. Betty Lou also was a 4-H general leader for many years, and worked at the Dane County Fair. She was also a charter member of the Merry Maids Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Allen (Diane), Dale (Janet), and Kevin (Cindy); 5 grandchildren, Stacie (William) Prochaska, Paul Meixner, Jennifer (Steven) Lecesse, Jared Meixner and Trevor Meixner; 5 great-grandchildren Brenna, Clark, Morgan, Areia and Samantha; and a brother Howard (Gloria) Richards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother Gerald; and 2 infant siblings.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday April 9, 2017, at North Windsor United Methodist Church 7523 S. Meixner Rd. in DeForest. Pastor Dianne Vielhuber will preside. Burial will be in the North Windsor Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie and from noon until the time of service at the church on Sunday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to North Windsor United Methodist Church.
