Barbara “Bobbie” Holzem, age 90, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Oakwood East. She was born on July 21, 1925 in New London and was the daughter of Albert and Mary (Crain) Van Alstine. She married Claude Holzem on October 6, 1948 in New London. Bobbie was a Registered Nurse and worked at St. Vincent's in Green Bay, New London and St, Mary's in Wausau.
She is survived by her 3 children, Peter (Diane) of Farmington, New Mexico, Paul (Maureen) of Madison, Mary Jo (Wynn) Buege of Appleton; 5 grandchildren, Erin (Mark) Van Handel of Greendale, Brianna (Jesten) Neill of Oshkosh, Jacob Buege of Milwaukee, Katie Holzem of Philadelphia, PA , Molly (Dan) Lohr of Middleton; 4 great grandsons, Paul and John Van Handel, Graeme and Camden Neill; 2 brothers, Lawrence (Kay) Van Alstine of Depere, Pete (Jan) Van Alstine of New London; and a sister, Betty Tadych of Milwaukee.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2015 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
The family suggests memorials, In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Sacred Hearts Catholic Church or Oakwood East.
