Anna M. Reinen, age 96, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Lighthouse in Sun Prairie. She was born on June 19, 1918 in the Town of Bristol and was the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Speth) Bonner. She married Charles Reinen on July 15, 1944 in Sun Prairie. Charlie and Anna were devoted to their family and one another. This devotion was displayed when Anna cared for Charlie after a debilitating stroke. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage until Charlie's death in 1996.
Anna was never one to relax. She believed idle time was wasted time. Anna received her greatest enjoyment during the time she spent with family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and dear friend to many. Anna was an active member of Bristol Lutheran Church. Her faith and church family was very important to her. Anna enjoyed visiting with friends, crocheting, baking, quilting, playing cards and gardening.
She is survived by a daughter Susan Reinen of Sun Prairie; 3 sons Andrew (Phyllis) of Windsor, Robert (Diane), John (Sandy) of Sun Prairie; 5 grandchildren, Laurie, Michelle (Doug Brown), Aaron (Heidi), Lindsay, Kristin, 2 great grandchildren, Jacob and Anna Broeckel; 2 sisters, Angela (Gerald) Hauser all of Sun Prairie, Sister Helen Bronner (Nun) Elm Grove, and many nieces and nephews; 4 sisters-in-law, Clara Higgins, Anna Gehrke, Margaret Schey and Alice Bakke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers Norbert and William; 5 sisters, Armella Klinger, Rosella “Sally” Engsberg, Mary Greenberg, Antionette “Toni” Bronner and Regina Schmutzler.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thurday, November 20, 2014 at Bristol Lutheran Church, 6835 Hwy N in Sun Prairie with Pastor Rick Reiten presiding. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday.
Anna's family would like to thank the many people that have provided support and caring. Special thanks to Pastor Rick Reiten for his many visits and prayers. His loving support has truly been a blessing. We'd also like to thank the compassionate staff members of Betty's Harbor at the Lighthouse of Sun Prairie and Heartland Hospice. The care they all provided is truly appreciated. In addition we would like to thank mom's special neighbors on Birkenbine Drive. They were always there, friends in every sense of the word. Thank you all for enriching Anna's life.
