Alice K. Yelk, age 86, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Lodi. She was born on March 2, 1926 in Waunakee and was the daughter of Jacob and Lena (Laufenberg) Kaltenberg. She married Michael Yelk on October 6, 1951. Alice farmed most of her life until her retirement in 2006.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy (Peter) Breunig of Waunakee; sisters-in-law Tharsella Kaltenberg, Helen Kaltenberg, Lucille Kaltenberg, Kathleen Kaltenberg; a brother-in-law Tom “Toby” Pertzborn
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1965; 2 sisters, Marion Hecker, Helen Pertzborn; 5 brothers, Raymond, Norbert, Jerome, James and Donald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Father JohnPutzer presiding. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Monday.
