I love and miss you dearly Uncle Al. I wish I had been able to say my goodbyes, though I know you are watching over me. You were my favorite Uncle and forever left an imprint in my heart. Thank you for all of the fun time and memories you gave me.

I am shocked and saddened about Al's death. Just heard about it today and can still not believe it. I have known Al for many years, he used to drive my son's family from Chicago to Madison every year, when they came to visit us from their place in London. Al has driven me many times too, I considered him a good and faithful friend and I will miss him a lot, together with my whole family. He was a gentleman and a wonderful and generous person. My heart goes out to his family.

Al was not just a friend but was family to me and so many. He will truly be missed. Freeport Retina Clinic and UW Health Eye Clinic will never be the same. Al touched the lives of everyone he met with his kind heart. Our deepest condolences to Al's family.
Reed Coleman left a message on June 15, 2017:
With love and caring for all the Grecos. Al was part of our family in a loving, generous and considerate way for 25 years. We shared joy and sadness. He loved Annie's Dad and adopted Howard as his own. I don't quite see how we can stand to be without Al but in spirit he will always be loved by us. It would be hard to know how to repay his kindness but we can try. Love to you all. Reed

It still does not seem real and I still cannot find the words to say all that Al was to so many people. While we had our battles over the years one thing was ALWAYS certain...Al would do any thing for any one. He is already greatly missed and will be in the future. My love and prayers go out to his entire family and friends.
Amy Zimmerman left a message on June 15, 2017:
I sob as I write this for the love of our Al. Our memory of Al will never fade. Why?
Because he is in our hearts. His heart was so full of love and generosity. He was
in our lives for a reason. Whether it was to be there in a moment of your life of
tragedy or celebration, Al was there for you. He gave me courage
and strength when I could not find any. He always’ said “Hey, you know I love you
guys and I’ll be there if you ever need anything.” And he was. I know he was
there for many others. If there were 10 more hours in the day, he would be out
there helping someone, somewhere. I know this from spending time
with Al and his terrific family. He did volunteer over 5,000 hours on record with
honor and pride but off the record it was countless selfless more hours of love.
He loved HIS “Doc’s” with great admiration as well. Ah, the stories he could tell
but never did! The times when he talked about his little firecracker,
Stella Rose. You never saw a man’s face beam with so much love when talking
about his grandbaby.
He could talk the talk and do the walk, mostly on the golf course!
May you walk with the Lord now Al, you will be so dearly missed by all you have
touched in your life. We will see you on the other side where you will be either
fixing the gate to heaven, a broken wing or a squeaky halo.
Our deepest loving sympathy to your wonderful family,
Lyle and Amy Zimmerman
There are not enough words to express what an amazing man Al was. His larger than life personality touched so many people. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, but especially by you, his family, that he loved so much.
Sending love to you all as you celebrate his life.
Will see you Friday morning.

Sherry, Carmine and Christine, and all of the Greco's, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all. There are so many wonderful "Al stories" that make me smile. That is what I would think he would want - for people to remember him with a smile and perhaps a laugh.

I remember him talking a long time ago about not knowing how to spell his middle name. He said, "why couldn't I have had Dad's middle name?" I knew then if I had a son that I would call him Joseph. Joseph and Alex love him so much.

I will see you Thursday.
