Adeline B. Punswick, age 102, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Sun Prairie Health Care Center. She was born on May 1, 1915 in the Town of Hampden and was the daughter of Ole and Caroline Gilbertson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a lifetime member of the Spring Prairie Lutheran Church. She graduated from Rio High School in 1933. She married Sidney Punswick at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison on October 21, 1942. Adeline enjoyed gardening, crafts, crocheting, rosemaling and good homemade food. She took great pride in hard work, saving and doing things the right way. She was a member of the Sons of Norway and the Antique Badger Car Club, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Dale (Georgia) of Cottage Grove, Phillip (Terry) of Olathe, Kansas; a daughter, Shirley Clemons Punswick of Rio; grandchildren, Nathan, Gregg and Troy Punswick, Eric (Karen), Amy (Jason) Spacek, Kevin (Jennifer), Tara (John) Witczak, Timothy (Hailey) Clemons; 16 great grandchildren, Anna, Johnathan, Grace, Luke Punswick, Avery and Jillian Spacek, Joseph, Lucia, Samuel, John, Catherine and Cecilia Punswick, Madison, Sydney, Jackson Clemons and Caitlyn Witczak.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Gladys; and brother-in-law Don Spielman; 6 brothers and 4 sisters-in-laws, Clarence and Esther, Casper, Russel and Betty, Berlin, James and Alice, William and Marion; a grandson Matthew Punswick and a great granddaughter Chloe Witczak.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Spring Prairie Lutheran Church in Keyeser with Pastor Sylvia Lee-Thompson presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the Church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Memorials can be made to Spring Prairie Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
