Yolanda Ritacca

March 17, 1921 - June 16, 2020

Yolanda Ritacca, 99, passed away June 16, 2020 at Agrace Hospice, Madison. She was born March 17, 1921 in Aurora, IL and married Joseph Ritacca June 11, 1939. They lived and raised their family in Kenosha until Joe retired from the Kenosha Fire Department. After retirement they wintered in Venice, FL and summered in Lac du Flambeau. They were married for 69 years when Joe passed away. Yolanda loved the Gulf of Mexico, where she received her Red Cross Certificate for swimming over an accumulated 100 miles. She also loved the northwoods and their lakes where she swam, boated, and hosted numerous family events. She was also an avid watercolor painter and enjoyed creative writing.
She moved from FL to Sun Prairie, five years ago. She is survived by her children Salvatore (Rose)of Fountain Hills, AZ., Joseph (Joan) of Venice, FL., Rosemarie (Charlie) Herman of Sun Prairie and Jenniene (Ken) Mallilieu of Sierra Vista, AZ.; a sister, Sandra Marsh of Sheridan, IL; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren who were all blessed to have had her in their lives for so long.

Aunt Yo was truly an inspirational woman. Her strength was something to be admired. I truly enjoyed her company. She will always be in my thoughts and in my heart!

Aunt Yolanda..you will be truly missed by everyone. You are so beautiful, smart, loving, kind, and just all around amazing. We love you.

Mom always marveled and was envious of how effortlessly Yolanda was able to get around, since is Mom about 5 years younger and has to rely on her walker. Please accept our sincerest condolences. Whenever I was in your parent’s house, your mom was alway happy and cooking. The aromas were so enticing to my senses. I can only hope that my life can be as fulfilled as hers. She was a treasure.

Dear Mom the world looks a little dimmer without you in it. You had a sense of joy, positive attitude. And a love for life, you were open to new experiences and knowledge. You were the best of mothers in every sense.You had a lot of fun with family and friends and shared so much with us except your beloved chocolate. You adored being by the water and we adored you. Mom, I know you are with Dad & at peace. You will be missed by Ken & I, you were a good Mother. Thank you for all the wonderful memories growing up, the trips to the south, west and north. The camping with cousins, up north with cousins & family, and Florida. Thank you for all of them, they are something to be cherished. Rest now Mom, you are safe, and we will be just fine.
