I am saddened to hear of Sal's passing, my heart goes out to his many friends and family. Sal was quite easily one of the most loving and caring people that I've ever worked for, and though it has been over 20 years since that time, I still remember him fondly. I was in high school then, and had a friend and teammate who worked for him. My friend knew I was looking for some part time work during school, and he suggested I apply for Red Lobster. In particular, he told me that he had the best manager, and that it was a bonus that he was Italian - we were both proud of our Italian heritage. When I met Sal, he asked me if I had any experience, to which I replied no but that I love food and I love to work hard, so he gave me the busser job. I was nervous arriving to that interview, but sitting with Sal for 30 seconds instantly put me at ease and we had some great conversation. Throughout the next year, I enjoyed my time working at Red Lobster under Sal. He was wise, thoughtful, caring, and he was genuinely interested in hearing about how things are going, talking about food and cooking, or anything that we happened to talk about. This was my first real job, and I learned a lot about hard work and accountability from Sal. I took the experience from Red Lobster and was able to land several restaurant/service jobs while working my way through college. These jobs were so crucial in my ability to provide for myself through school, and even support myself after graduation until I moved into my current career. I would not have had the base experience without the generous opportunity that Sal gave me, and may not have been able to support myself as well through college, and may not have been able to finish school and begin the successful career I currently enjoy. Though Sal may have been a small part of my life, his impact was lasting and continues to this day. I was reminiscing and decided to look him up, where unfortunately I landed here. To Sal's family - though he may have passed, he will always be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched. Whether his impact was small or great, it is lasting.

Donna & Pete- Words cannot express the sadness that we have in our hearts. Sal was such a JOY to be around - He was a great husband, father, uncle, Godfather, friend and chef ! We will miss him dearly. We will always remember his laugh and his great sense of humor. We will have to continue some family traditions in his honor and visit him in Spring Green yearly (at least). Please know that Bill and I are here for you whenever you need someone to talk to. We love you so very much! Love, Janet and Bill (and little Billy) Kramer
