Salvatore C. Minetta, age 62 passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born in New York, New York, July 16, 1952 to his parents Frederick and Joan (Colavecchio) Minetta. Sal married Donna Kramer on November 30, 1996. Sal served in the U.S. Army from 1970 until 1979, and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Sal most recently has been a manager for Red Lobster Restaurants for the past 32 years. During his employment with Red Lobster he has been recognized for his exemplary human relation skills and the ability to run a top earning restaurant. In 2001 Sal was awarded the Diamond Club Award which is given to restaurants that lead in financial performance and guest satisfaction. Throughout his tenure, Sal has been recognized for his ability to train new managers and to minimize employee turnover. Sal has worked in many Red Lobsters in Arizona, Colorado, and Wisconsin and has been a mentor to many. In addition to his career in restaurants, Sal has been a loving husband and father, and wonderful and giving friend. As a husband and father there was never a doubt of his love and commitment to his family. There was never a mountain too high to climb for his family even during his brief illness. As a friend, Sal would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Many times Sal would show his love for others by cooking and sharing his Italian cuisine, which truly came from the heart. Sal was very committed to his faith and led his life with a genuine love and compassion for all. As we remember Sal, we pray that we all can follow his example as a very caring and giving individual who gave of himself unconditionally to his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Peter, Michael, Matthew, and Alicia; 4 grandchildren, Lizzy, Michael Jr., Ella, and Caelin; mother Joan Minetta; sisters Stephanie Minetta and JoAnne (Jeff) Walsh; brother Gene Minetta; and many nieces and nephews.
