Paul H. Vadney, age 78, went to heaven peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 24, 2020. Paul suffered multiple health issues over the years and was faithfully cared for and loved by his wife Lois (nee Rentmeester) of 24 years. The couple married on November 9, 1996.
Paul grew up in Utica, NY and joined the Navy as a young man. Throughout his military career he resided in many areas of the country including Memphis, TN, Jacksonville, FL, Corpus Christi, TX, Brunswick, ME, Pensacola, FL and Key West, FL. He moved to Wisconsin in 1990.
He served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy as an avionics engineer developing, maintaining and testing Naval flight simulation systems. He completed his Bachelor’s of Science degree from Troy University while serving. He was honorably discharged in 1984 and continued to work in the avionics engineering field in Key West, FL.
He loved the out of doors, hunting, fishing, photography, and all things electronic. His gregarious personality entertained with stories of past and present. He enjoyed history, astronomy, and any of the sciences.
He is survived by his brother Thomas Vadney, 80, of Vancouver, Canada, his widow, Lois, his first wife and mother of his sons, Laura, his son Joshua (Jacki) Vadney of Hartselle, AL, his son Tim (Juli) Vadney of Los Angeles, CA, his grandchildren Mikiya Vadney, Kentaro Vadney, Melanie Vadney and Michael Vadney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Richard and John, and his sister Eleanor and her husband Robert.
A Private Burial with Military Honors will be held at Sacred Hearts Cemetery on Friday May 29, 2020. A Memorial Mass and celebration of Paul’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.
