Sarah “Pat” Schuster, age 89, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012. She brought love, kindness, grace, dignity and joy to all she encountered, which includes her family, friends, church members and those in the community with whom she volunteered. She was born on July 31, 1922 to Steve and Sarah (Wall) Meuer. She graduated from Highland High School in 1940 and worked a number of years for Wisconsin Bell Telephone. Pat married Lawrence Schuster in November 1945 and they bought a farm in the Town of Sun Prairie in 1950, where they raised five sons and farmed until Lawrence's death in 1984. A member of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church since 1950, Pat gave much of her time supporting church activities, including cooking for and serving at funeral luncheons. She was also active with St. Ann's Society, the American Legion Unit 333, and numerous other organizations. Pat adored her family and enjoyed playing cards, dancing, embroidery, and traveling with friends. She was a marvelous cook, baked cakes for her boys everyday and always had something to offer when people stopped by.
Pat gave of herself quietly and humbly. She will be missed by many, her family most of all.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Lisa) of Milford, OH, Tom (Julie) of Sun Prairie, Roger (Mary) of Middleton, Don (Theresa) of Deerfield; her grandchildren, Adam, Peter, Amy (Justin Kuehn), Erin (Ryan Schmandt), Nathan (Aubrey), Michael, Hugh, Sarah and Christian; step grandchildren, Brandon, Alex and Chelle Dorr; great grandchild, Jacen Kuehn; her sister Mary Parsons and many dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Joseph, a brother John and infant brother Joseph and mother and father-in-law Josephine and William Schuster.
