Sun Prairie/ North Bristol——–Nancy L. Batz, age 74, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.
She was born on January 11, 1950 in Stoughton and was the daughter of Marvin and Gladys (Fosso) Torke. She married Kenneth Batz on February 6, 1971 at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monona.
Nancy worked for Cuna Mutual for 34 years and then the State of Wisconsin Tax of Appeals for 13 years. She loved antiques, auctions, motorcycling, snowmobiling, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She vacationed in Yuma for the last 5 years. She collected keepsakes from almost all 50 states in their travels.
She is survived by her husband; 2 children, Cindy (Scott) Lettman of Belleville, Bill (Jamie) Batz of Monroe; 5 grandchildren, Hunter (Savanna) Lettman, Amanda and Avery Lettman, Justin and Jared Batz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant twins Brenda and Renee; 4 sisters Jean Johnson, JoAnne Torke, Sharon Kroetz and Shirley Klink
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in East Bristol with Father Kumud Nayak presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers a Memorials can be made to St. Josephs Building Fund or the U.W. Carbone Cancer Center. The family would like to thank Dr. David Kushner, Dr Kristin Bradley along with the nurses, CNAs and staff at the UW Hospital-Oncology and Carbone Cancer center for their many years of compassion and care for Nancy. Also to Alexander Milsap and staff at UW Windsor. Thank You to Agrace Hospice nurses, social workers and CNAs for their endless care and compassion especially Dawn and Krissy in our home and amazing staff at Agrace Fitchburg. And lastly all our friends and neighbors for your endless cards of encouragement, meals and respite care though the difficult times.
