Meryl R. Turek, age 104, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Columbia County Health Care Center. She was born on November 7, 1914 and was the daughter o f Harvey and Martha Uphoff. She married Bernard Turek on May 27, 1939 in Dubuque, IA. Meryl worked at Wisconsin Porcelain for 35 years.
She is survived by her son Terry (Lois) Turek of Portage; 3 grandchildren, Debbie (Mike) Willan of Portage, Carrie (Kerry) Blaska of Lake Tomahawk, Troy (Rachel) Turek of Sun Prairie; 6 great grandchildren, Seth, Haley, Kelsee, Ty, Hudson, and Gannon
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard, daughter Linda Taylor, great granddaughter Shilo and a sister Wanda Skogen
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Pastor Jenny Arneson presiding. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cottage Grove Cemetery.
