Margaret Elaine Loftus, age 93, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011. She was born on August 23, 1917 and was the daughter of Viggo and Dorthea (Thompson) Nielsen. She married Adolph Loftus on September 4, 1934. After they were married they farmed near Deerfield and Stoughton. They moved to Sun Prairie in 1949 when Adolph joined Brooks Implement Margaret was a charter member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Wolfgram of Sun Prairie, Geraldine Wagner of Sun Prairie, Ambassador Thomas (JoAnn) Loftus of Sun Prairie Wendy Loftus of Oslo, Norway; 6 grandsons, Wade (Jane) Wolfgram of Sun Prairie, Jay (Leslie) Wolfgram of Sun Prairie, Bret Wagner of Madison, Alec Loftus of Boston, MA, Karl Loftus of Arlington, VA and Christoffer Stub of Oslo, Norway; 9 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Eileen Loftus of Sun Prairie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1998, a sister Mildred Beerntsen, a grandson Todd Wolfgram and son-in-law Merlin Wolfgram.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Drive in Sun Prairie. Pastor Julie Krahn will preside. A private burial will be held at Bristol Lutheran Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Tuesday.
