Lois E. Radue passed away on September 27, 2011, at her home in Sun Prairie. Lois was born on July 13, 1927, the daughter of George and Gertrude (Boyack) Neitzke. Lois E. Radue passed away on September 27, 2011, at her home in Sun Prairie. Lois was born on July 13, 1927, the daughter of George and Gertrude (Boyack) Neitzke. She was a 1945 graduate of Wausau Senior High School. Lois married Herman Radue at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wausau, on September 16, 1950. She and Herman recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. The couple lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Beaver Dam, and Beloit before moving to Sun Prairie in 1965. Lois was employed by several insurance companies, including American Family Insurance, from which she retired 23 years ago. After her retirement, she worked as a food-pantry volunteer and participated in other volunteer activities. She also supported her husband's many years of service in the Knights of Columbus. She enjoyed word games, puzzles, picnics, walks, and travel with her husband throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. More than any of these, she enjoyed time spent with her family. Lois was thoughtful beyond measure and had a wonderful sense of humor. Her positive outlook was an inspiration to her family. Survivors include her loving husband, Herman; a daughter, Jane Radue (Patrick Riopelle) of Madison; twin sons, Thomas (Carrie) of Savage, Minnesota and David (Wayne Williams) of New York, New York; granddaughters, Erin Radue and Natalie Riopelle; grandson, Armand (Nicole) Riopelle; great grandson, Drake Riopelle; three sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, June Schalow. Lois's family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care provided by Dr. Yamil Arbaje, Dr. Paul Schmidt, and Dr. Jennifer Maskel, along with Kim, Mary Ann, and others too numerous to mention; St. Mary's Hospital; and the many kind and compassionate staff of HospiceCare, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie, with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be made to Sacred Hearts School Endowment Fund, Sun Prairie, or HospiceCare, Inc., Madison.
