Lois (Knapton) Cowen, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 16th, 2021 at her home. She was born in Madison on January 14, 1959 and was the daughter of Harold Knapton and Marlene (Veith) Pence. She married Dennis Cowen on August 22, 1981 at St. Albert’s Catholic Church. She worked as a professional housekeeper for many years at Holiday Inn, The Concourse Hotel, U.W. Hospital, New Perspective Living and The Willows Nursing Home. She worked hard, loving her work and enjoyed meeting people.
She is survived by her son Patrick Cowen of Madison; siblings, Jean Sheil of Middleton, Tony (Jackie) Knapton of Sun Prairie, Linda (Todd) Brumm of Fall River, Lori (Ken) Ellestad of Marshall, Lisa Knapton-Pertzborn of Madison; many nephews & nieces; Jesse Sheil, Jaimi Sheil, Colin Brumm, Paul Rebokus IV, Marlene (Tom) Sletton, Amanda Garrett, Paul Garrett; great nephew Brady Brumm; along with special friends Hannah Holte and Loretta Brown.
She was preceded in death by her both her parents, Harold Knapton of Friendship, WI and Marlene (Veith) Pence of St. Petersburg, FL and her husband Dennis Cowen in 2007, and her nephew Owen Brumm in 2008.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. Burial will be held at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
