Lawrence R. Ward, age 77, passed away on Thursday May 10, 2018 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.
Larry was born at home in Waterloo on December 10, 1940 to Howard and Lucille Ward. He was a Waterloo native to his adult years, then relocated to Marshall in 1984.
He leaves behind his wife Rose Ann Ward of 33 years. He was blessed with 2 daughters, Arlette Ward (Chris Neff), Beaver Dam, and Raenette (Tom) Tempel, Helena, MT.
His blended family with Rose gave him 4 stepchildren, Kevin (Brenda) Scholl, Hot Springs, AK, Colleen Hughes, Blanchardville, Dawn (Scott) Higgins, Loving, NM, and Melanie (Jeff) Wishart, Denmark, WI.
Larry has a sister Rhonda (Jerry) Neuberger, Waterloo, and 3 brothers Ken (Janette) Ward, Hutingdon, TN, Charles Ward (Deceased), and Dennis (Courtney) Hensler, Sonora, CA. His blended family gave him many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was an outdoor person, hunted, was an excellent trap shooter, loved Black Labradors, and was a country music fan. He served his country with time in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 233, Waterloo.
His Family wishes to thank Unity Point Health-Meriter, Oak Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Agrace HospiceCare for the loving care given to him and his family at a most difficult time.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday May 15, 2018, at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie. A private funeral service will be held. Burial will be at Medina cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers his family requests that memorials be sent in his memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
