James (Jim) Baertschi, age 70, passed away on September 25, 2018 at home in Orfordville.
He was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on February 8, 1948, the son of Fred and Sally Ann (Sturdevant) Baertschi. James married Rose Rheinschmidt in 1967 at Peoples Church, Beloit. He worked for General Motors for 22 ½ years. James drove school bus for Kobussen and tow truck for Burtness Chevrolet. He owned his own trucking company for over 30 years, driving for A & H Inc. and Allied Systems.
Jim loved spending time with family and friends, his 1953 Chevy truck, mowing lawn and his John Deere tractor.
Survivors are his wife: Rose; children: David (Lora), Kearney, MO., Jeanne (Jeffrey) Wilson, Kansas City, MO., and Richard “Tigger” (Gina), Wahoo, NE.; brother: Randy (Sandy), Footville; sisters: Diane (Wayne) Bliss, Footville and Debbie (Victor) Goznikar, Orfordville; grandchildren: Kaitlin, Taylor, Javen, Chelsea (Luke), Brock, Jasmine, Andrew, Heather, and Chad; Great Grandchildren, Bentley, Kinsley, Braxxton, Denver, Bowen, CJ, Lexi, Kendall, Aden, Ryder, Carter and Keenan; best friends, Bob “a brother from another mother” and Carol “Cassius” Nordeng; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Newcomer-Silverthorn Chapel on the Hill, 3008 S Coon Island Rd., Orfordville with Reverend Nathaniel Francis presiding. A visition will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
