Geary was one of my students @ Edgewood High School when I first came . What a great kid and a huge heart! He was one of the BEST high school running backs I have ever seen as I was on Coach Joel Maturi's staff @ the time. He and John Baltus were an outstanding duo in the backfield. I recall the standing ovation Geary got on the day he graduated as they wheeled him in after his car accident.I always enjoyed our conversations and that great smile of his. May he rest in peace, Nick Burrows Counselor Edgewood High School

I was so sorry to hear about Geary. As cousins we were far apart in age so we weren't very close as kids but we all watched his wonderful football career and saw the amazing man that he became. One of my memories was listening to his Dad (my Uncle Puck) talking about how proud he was of Geary--and for those who remember Puck, a man of few words, that was high praise indeed!
All my good wishes and prayers are with Geary's brothers and sisters and his wife and children, during this difficult time.

Susan Stites-Simon left a message on January 12, 2020:
It is hard to know where to start. Your entire family means so much to us. Geary was an awesome person and an incredible dad. Even during his darkest days, he had an impish grin and a wicked sense of humor. I'll never forget our banter about my "naughty" doggie on the day he got his latest awful diagnosis. He still had it in him to smile and tease. Jerry and I have always felt a reassurance knowing the Beylers were across the street. Please know that the household across the street is looking after you and is feeling the loss greatly. Love, Jerry and Susan Simon
Alexe Beyler left a message on January 11, 2020:
It was 1st down and was given 6 mo's to go.
Geary responded "I'll take that coach, Give me the ball" and he ran through all the obstacles in front of him.
It was now another 1st down and 3mo's to go.
Geary responded "I'll take that coach, Give me the ball" and he ran through all the obstacles in front of him.
It was now a first down and was in the Red Zone.
Geary responded "I'll take that coach, Give me the ball" and he ran through all the obstacles in front of him and made it in......to the arms of our Lord.

Rest in Peace my Brother
Alexe

Geary never lost sight of his coaches on the side line, our Lord, Julie, Nicole, and Nathen.

As a cousin I did not know Geary that well as he was only 10 when I moved away, but I remember how I loved all the commotion at your family's house when I was a kid. Your Mom was always so special to me. She even came to Colorado for my wedding. I bet she is glad to be hugging him again. I am sending all my good wishes to all you siblings and Geary's children and wife. The Kellogg genes are strong.

I know Julie, and that's enough to know she loved her husband, unconditionally. She was supportive to the very end. I can't imagine how much he will be missed, but I've learned that shared memories will help keep him alive in your mind. Rest in peace, Geary. My condolences to Julie, Nicole, and Nathan for your loss. God has his name!!
With love,
Pat Hetland

I'm so sorry to hear of Geary's passing. I did however, literally laugh out loud at the command center which I remember fondly, amongst so many other sayings, comments, and perspectives when I got to know Geary when we worked together at American TV. My condolences, especially to Julie.
