Florence L. Harmel, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Hearthstone Villages Assisted Living in Woodstock, IL. She was born on December 7, 1924 in Milwaukee, and was the daughter of Mathias and Pauline (Henn) Kammers. She married Duane Harmel on August 9, 1947 in Baraboo.
During her lifetime, Florence enjoyed many activities; including playing Bridge, collecting Antiques, Ballroom Dancing, attending Baraboo High School Class Reunions, and visiting her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son James Harmel of McHenry IL; Jeanne (Ronald) Horstman of Hillsboro, OH; grandchildren Jennifer Hutchens, Matthew Horstman, Meggan Page, and Christopher Harmel; great grandchildren Grace Hutchens, Jack Hutchens, Madelynn Page, Noelle Page, and Lincoln Page.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Duane, sister Eunice Kammers and son Thomas.
On Tuesday August 24th, 2021, A Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 229 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Father Miroslaw Szynal will preside. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.
