Emelie Ann Kilian, age 85 passed away on October 19, 2022 in Madison. She was born on November 22, 1936 to Lawrence and Adelia (Valley) Portwine in Lynxville, WI. She married Robert Kilian on October 27, 1956 at Sacred Hearts in Sun Prairie.
Emelie was a homemaker and worked at Famous Footwear. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, rock picking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
She is survived by: her 16 children, Mike (Janice) of Sun Prairie; Elizabeth (Mark) Cuff of Pardeeville; Joseph of Prescott; Anthony (Maureen) of New Richmond; Francis (Tammy Westphal) of Sun Prairie; Timothy of Sun Prairie; James (Carrie) of Waterloo; Thomas (Michelle) of Sun Prairie; John of Sun Prairie {close family friend Mark (Gretchen) Shattuck}; Jerrald (Laurie) of Milton; Stephen (Jayne) of Marshall, Terrance (Pam) of Sun Prairie; Mary (Roger) Bruns of Cottage Grove; Ann Kimba of Madison; Theresa Strait of McFarland; Maria Pagel of Illinois; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brother Kenneth Portwine and sister Imogene Grunewald.
Emelie was preceded in death by: her parents; husband Robert; 1 brother, two sisters, 3 sisters-in-law, and 2 grandchildren, David and Jessie.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Monday October 24, 2022, at St. Therese Chapel, 6039 Baltes Road, Waunakee, with Father Kenneth Dean presiding. Burial will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held from 9 am until the time of Mass.
