Duane W. Schey, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at home. He was born on January 28, 1940 to Wilmer and Marcella (Ebert) Schey. He married Roberta Hurckman on March 5, 1979.
Duane was a member of the Army Reserve. He ran his own trucking company, worked for Oscar Mayer, and local farmers in the area. Duane also worked for Livable Communities by Don Tierney.
He is survived by; his mother, Marcella Schey, children Pam Hurckman, Jeff Hurckman, Arthur (Julie) Hurckman, Darrell Hurckman and Ann Mitchell, 5 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, a sister, Diane (Greg) Connelly, and a brother, Donald (Mary) Schey.
Duane was preceded in death by father Wilmer, wife Roberta, and son Tom Hurckman.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Duane and Roberta on Sunday, Jun 19, 2022, from 12:30-2:00p.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in East Bristol following the service.
