My sympathy and prayers to the family as you remember the loving life that Donna lived. I have such good memories of the times that Marilyn and I , Donna and Ted along with Marie and Don would go out for a Chinese dinner. All of us liked Chinese food. We always had such an enjoyable evening sharing interesting conversation and a few laughs. May the peace of the Lord be with you during the days ahead.

May loving memories bring peace, comfort, and strength. I worked with Donna for years at Advance. She was so kind, patient and always had a smile. May she rest in peace.

I met Donna Speich on September 11, 2001. On this day, our nation experienced troubling events in New York City, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. As the news was broadcasting much despair, my daughters and I went in search for something that would brighten our day. We took a walk around the neighborhood, and what we happened upon was a very approachable woman outside with a baby beagle. It is my belief that a puppy can cure much, and if you can tell me a better way of lifting your spirits with just a few moments of shear beagle bliss, then please, let’s have a conversation. Back to my story, we introduced ourselves to Donna, explained why we were stopping by; she was modest, and charming; and she gave us much joy that day. We fell in love with her, her husband Ted, and their dog Mandy. The next few years were spent talking over the “good old days”, during the cold winter months we worked for hours putting together puzzles, and we would laugh abundantly. Donna was a phenomenal cook, she taught me how to make popcorn balls, and if you’ve ever experienced her culinary delights that was her scalloped corn or her delicious black and white pie (which was one of Ted’s favorite desserts), then I’m sure you know of what I speak. If you never tasted those dishes, then I’m sorry for your loss, because they were epic. Donna never made me feel like I was a bother, she gave herself freely, and I recall she treasured the simple things. She spoke fondly of her family, her faith and her friends; and you could feel the incredible love she had for them all. On September 11, 2001, my life changed forever. To the entire Speich Family, thank you for sharing your sweet Donna. Her smile could clear a cloudy day, she was simply magical, and a gift I can never repay. I hope we can all experience that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, and every personal connection has meaning.
