Donald A. Berger, age 74 passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 2, 2010. He was born on March 17, 1936 and was the son of Albert and Caroline (Guedel) Berger. He married Beverly Bauman on May 31, 1957. Don owned a masonry contracter business for 33 years and then became the Building Commissioner for the city of Country Club Hills, Illinois for 15 years, retiring in 1999. After relocating to Okee, he drove a school bus during his retirement for 9 years for the Lodi School System.
He is survived by his wife Beverly of 53 years; a daughter, Lori (Gary) Coyer of Orr, MN; 2 sons, Terry (Lisa) Berger of New Lenox, IL, Eric (Kim) Berger of Manhattan, IL; 8 grandchildren, Brittany and Ross Coyer, Melanie, Gretchen, Luke, Mitch, Brett and Jack Berger; a sister, Doris Jacobs of Gilbert AZ, and one brother Gerald (Joanne) Berger of Edmund, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents. A private service will be held by his family.
