David Allen Lee, age 51, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and son. David was born on May 14, 1971 as the second child to James and Mary (Schardt) Lee. He attended Pecatonica Area School and graduated in 1989 as valedictorian of his class. He was a talented athlete, active in track, basketball, and cross country. He went on to attend UW-Platteville, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Education. He then continued to receive a Master’s degree in Education at UW-La Crosse. After graduation, he became a high school math teacher at Sun Prairie High School for 28 years. With his love of sports, he also coached high school golf and basketball. He married his college sweetheart, Kit, on June 5, 1999 and became an endearing and dedicated father to his son, Jacob. He loved taking and watching Jacob flourish in swimming, basketball, and bowling. He created amazing woodwork, enjoyed gardening with his family, and loved challenging people in fantasy football.
He is survived by his wife Kit, son Jacob, his parents James and Mary, brother Greg (Sandy), and sister Kristine (Paul) Manchester, father in-law Bounnane, mother in-law Done, brother in-laws Bobby (Anne),Andrew (Nancy), Wali (Nicole), sister in-law Malay (Dennis) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Gertrude Lee and Lawrence and Margaret Schardt. David will be truly missed by all of those he has left behind. We will always feel his presence in our hearts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 2420 St. Albert Dr. in Sun Prairie with Msgr. Donn Heiar presiding. Interment will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
