Private Family Burial

David A. Gehrke, age 71, passed away on Thursday January 7, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on September 27, 1949 in Madison to Harold and Violet (Hahn) Gehrke. He married Ramona Fassbender on September 23, 1989.
David served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1969 to 1971. He owned Gerks Junction in North Bristol for 14 years. David also owned and operated his own semi for 25 years.
David is survived by his wife Mona; stepdaughter Gwyn (Lucas) Blindauer of Arlington; step grandson Kaeden; 2 brothers Robert (Jeannette) Gehrke of DeForest, and Roger (Sandy) Gehrke of Hudson; sister Diane (Dave) Harbort of Sun Prairie; uncle Phillip (Kathy) Hahn; father-in-law and mother-in-law Richard and Eleanore Fassbender; 2 brothers-in-law Richard II (Annette) Fassbender and Paul (Dawn) Fassbender; 4 sisters-in-law Susan Walsh, Connie Kind, Peg Eaton and Sarah Mamerow; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and close friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents. Brother-in-law Joseph Fassbender, and sister-in-law Ann Fassbender.
A visitation for will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street Sun Prairie. A private burial will be held at Sun Prairie City Cemetery. Due to COVID, the family will understand if you are unable to attend. Please Follow COVID rules. The family would like to thank St. Mary’s ICU, Dr. Taylor, nurses Amanda, Kourtni and Jen.
