Daniel J. Gehrmann, age 82, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison after a lingering illness. He was 12 year survivor of cancer. He was born on May30, 1938, and was the son of Joseph and Bernice (Klinger) Gehrmann. Dan served in the Air National Guard and was a carpenter his whole life.
Dan is survived by his wife Betty of 54 years; his children Steven (Joyce) of Sun Prairie, Linda Koscielski of Colbert, WA, Debra (Jim) Schmit of Fredonia; grandchildren Benjamin Gehrmann, Tabitha, Breanna, Luke, and Levi Koscielski; his brothers and sisters Pauline, Barbara Wright, Kathy (Larry) Anderson, Pat (Ken) Tjugum, Carl, Tim, Don (Julie).
He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter Sarah; a sister Geraldine Goplin; and a brother Rudolph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 229 Columbus St. Sun Prairie. Due to Covid restrictions, social distancing is required, and family asks that all guests wear a mask. Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt will be presiding. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Sun Prairie. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Scared Hearts Church Building and Grounds. Thank you to Dr. Miller, Dr. Herbst and nurse Haley Biba who was a blessing to us. “God sees, God watches.
