I am shocked and sad to just hear of Cathy’s passing. She was my sister in law and while we did not have regular communication it was such a pleasure to finally see her at our niece Mallory’s wedding. What I remember most about Cathy was her kindness and devotion to my parents and her help during a very difficult time in all our lives. Thank you Cathy, Love Marlene

It was truly an honor to work with Cathy during our Oktoberfest festivities. Your Oktoberfest friends at St Laurence Parish, Elgin.

I was truly blessed to have worked and known Cathy for 5 years. She knew the importance of feeding hungry children and loved her work. She was always kind to share her stories of when she was young and living in Chicago, her skydiving adventures with Jeff, her love of family and friends and of her extensive travels. Cathy had a kind heart, a deep faith in God, a zest for life like no other, and more class than anyone else I have met. I am so sorry for the Berk Family loss. She may be gone but will never be forgotten. Sincerely - Kathy

Cathy was the model of professionalism, kindness, caring, and competency. She was the glue that held groups together. I will never forget my first interaction with her. Of the 1200+ employees at the Sun Prairie Area School District, it was Cathy that district leaders chose to serve as the district ambassador to escort interview candidates around for a school tour. She was perfect in the role - she just needed to be herself and being "Cathy" showcased the district's finest. We miss you Cathy, you were an invaluable leader of every team you served on.

Friend. This world is a much better place because of you. You were always welcoming and caring even after not seeing each other for a long time. Your wit and smile, a kind word or thoughtful gesture were always partof how you rolled! And, your chocolate chip cookies were legendary! You will be missed greatly! We will see each other again! Have a glass poured and waiting for me! Jeff, Stew and Dan, you are all in our prayers! Paulette Walsh, St Thomas More.

I cannot find the words to express how much joy Cathy always brought to my life. I loved her sense of adventure. We had both traveled and to many of the same places and it was always great fun to compare stories. Cathy generously shared the joy she got from her husband and sons. She had great ideas that were always focused on providing the best service. I will miss her infectious smile and easy laughter. Heaven is better now that Cathy is there, but my heart is aching at her leaving us here. My heart goes out to her family.

My heart goes out to her family and close friends as I can only imagine their sense of loss. I barely knew her, but loved the conversations we had and could tell she was someone who treasured those she loved and brought great joy to those who knew her best. We are all better off for having known her, even if only briefly. She is a shining example of how to live life fully.
