Carol G. Freidel, age 90, passed away on to her happy and heavenly home on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Prairie Gardens in Sun Prairie. She was born on February 15, 1931 in Madison and was the daughter of Urban and Gayle (Smelzer) Richgels.
On October 29, 1955 she married Roderick Freidel at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Madison. Carol graduated from Highland High School and the University of Wisconsin Madison 1n 1952. She worked for 37 years for the Sun Prairie School District as a Speech and Language therapist. She was also an avid Packer and Badger fan.
She is survived by a son Rod (Majka) of Machesney Park, IL and 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacqueline and Robert (McKenzie) all of Madison.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Rod in 2013; brother U. Cleigh; sisters Neva Baier and Marilyn Jacobson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 229 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. Father Miroslaw Szynal will preside. Entombment will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
