Sun Prairie———-Betty J. Dowden, age 75, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at U.W. Hospital in Madison. She was born on December 13, 1948. She married Kenneth Dowden on June 18, 1965 in Clarksville, TN.
Betty loved and had a good sense of humor, loved being with her grandchildren and family, gardening and flowers. She was charismatic and fun. Everybody loved her. She was such a strong role model for us. She taught us to be strong and instilled what family really means in her children and grandchildren. We were so very lucky and blessed to have her in our lives. She is laughing with Dad in heaven now.
She is survived by her children Todd “Kenny”(Marie) Dowden, Roselle (Marty) Austin, and Chrisy ( fiancé Charles Simon) Dowden; grandchildren Jacob Dowden, Ashley Simon, Tiffany Simon, and Colin and Anna Vieth; 2 sisters, Willabee Jackson and Estelle (Dave) Chappell.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2018 and her parents
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. Pastor Tim Knifer will preside. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery.
