Bernice Mikula, age 89, died on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Pineview Assisted Living in Sun Prairie. She was born on July 15, 1921 in the Town of Bristol. She was the daughter of Otto Edna (Schroud) Weisman. She married Leonard Mikula on November 23, 1946 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Sun Prairie. Bernice worked for the Sun Prairie School District in food service for a number of years. She and her husband’s greatest joy was spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Bruce (Cindy) Mikula of Sun Prairie, Patricia Mikula of Atlanta, GA, Nancy (Brian) Klipp of Atlanta, Ga; seven grandchildren, Brian (Annette) Mikula of Sun Prairie, Jason (Kelly) Mikula of Sun Prairie, Jessica (David) Webb of Anchorage,Alaska, Drew, Ian, Lauren, and Kylie Klipp of Atlanta; five great grandchildren, Alex, Chase, Conor, Abigail and Joshua; two sisters, Lorraine Knorr of Sun Prairie and El Marie Dorshort of Poynette and many nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law, Norbert Mikula of Watertown, Raymond (Loretta) Mikula of Punta Gorda, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. Burial will be in Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sacred Hearts Endowment Fund or HospiceCare Inc.
God saw she was getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around her

and saw her fade away,
Although we loved her dearly
We could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
