Anna Drunasky Zimbrick, age 96, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at The Sun Prairie Health Care Center. She was born on September 13, 1915 on the family farm in Sun Prairie Township. She was the first child of Juliette (Wavra) and George Drunasky. She attended Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Grade School and graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1932 at the age of 16. Anna married Harold Zimbrick of Marshall on October 8, 1935. He passed away on October 20, 1975. She then married Elmer Gardner of Sun Prairie on November 23, 1979. He passed away on August 13, 1993. She was a life-long member of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church, being baptized, receiving First Holy Communion and Confirmation. She was a member of the St. Ann's Altar Society and the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters. Anna was a very kind and generous person including making contributions to Sacred Hearts Catholic Church throughout her life. She along with Harold farmed in the Marshall and Sun Prairie areas for many years. Anna drove school bus for 23 years in the Sun Prairie Area School District. She took great pride in her flower garden and in keeping her lawn beautifully manicured. She spent much of her pastime embroidering pillowcases and wall hangings.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Judy (Robert) Perkl of DeForest, Jean (Charles) Hall of Chrisney, Indiana. Other survivors are sisters-in-law, Dolores Drunasky of Sun Prairie and Florence Veith of Jefferson; 4 grandchildren, Brian (Sherri) Thur of Pardeeville, Audrey (Mark) ZumBrunnen, Wilton, Michael Hall and Daniel (Janet) Hall, both of St. Petersburg, FL., 4 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and 4 step-great-great grandchildren.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Harold and Elmer; 2 sisters, Edna “Tuddie” Zimbric and Marjorie Legler, a brother, Bernard Drunasky and brothers-in-law, Sylvester Zimbric and Wayne Legler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. Burial will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie.
